Increased acreage for parks, recreation, and open space.

The acreage of parkland in Valley’s Edge will more than double the amount of parkland existing in Chico today (668 acres, excluding only Bidwell Park’s wilderness areas).

Regional Park

The expansive Regional Park at Valley’s Edge, similar in character to upper Bidwell Park, preserves an expansive 426 acres.

Village Core Park

Village Core Park represents the vibrant social core of Valley’s Edge and nearby areas, with neighborhood cafes, a large community garden, majestic oaks, and family picnic areas.

Community Park

The Community Park along the Steve Harrison Memorial Bike Trail provides more structured play such as soccer, basketball, softball, dog parks, group picnic areas, and a recreation center.

Neighborhood Parks and Recreational Opportunities

Neighborhood parks, mini-sports courts, children’s playgrounds, adult fitness equipment, fountains, a lake, mini-parks, and tot lots offer opportunities for outdoor recreation, exercise, and socialization.

100% of homes will be within 350 yards of a park, trail, or open space element.
